Abstract

Features two workshops: Biology of Signaling in the Cardiovascular System (organized by Martin Schwartz, Yale University and Ondine Cleaver, UT Southwestern) and Vascular Matrix Biology and Bioengineering (organized by Monzur Murshed, McGill University and Marsha Rolle, Worcester Polytechnic Institute) Abstract deadline: August 15, 2015 Travel Awards are available Vascular Biology 2015 is the annual meeting of the North American Vascular Biology Organization (NAVBO). Highlights include the Keynote Lecture by Richard Hynes, MIT, the Earl Benditt Award Lecture by Eli Keshet, Hebrew University and the Judah Folkman Award Lecture by Mukesh Jain of Case Western Reserve University.  The meeting encompasses two major themes in vascular biology: Biology of Signaling in the Cardiovascular System and Vascular Matrix Biology and Bioengineering.  The Signaling workshop is organized by Martin Schwartz, Yale University and Ondine Cleaver, UT Southwestern and will feature sessions on Endothelial Cell-Cell Interactions in Health and Disease, Tissue-vascular Cell Interaction in Stem Cell Niches, Receptor signaling, TGFb pathways as targets in vascular therapies, Vascular remodeling, Fluid shear stress in arterial function and atherosclerosis, and Vascular metabolism and dysfunction.  The Matrix/Bioengineering workshop, organized by Monzur Murshed, McGill University and Marsha Rolle, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, with Jessica Wagenseil of Washington University and Craig Simmons of the University of Toronto, will feature the following sessions: Matrix Remodeling in Vascular Disease, Microfluidics and Vascular Networks, New Approaches and Experimental Models of Vascular Disease (Imaging), Vascular Wall Mechanics & Mechanotransduction, Cardiovascular Regeneration & Tissue Engineering, Biomaterials - Engineering Angiogenesis, and Vascular Matrix Calcification.
